Clarksdale radio

The last time I was in Clarksdale, MS, was in the 60s. They had two radio stations - WROX and WKDL. I visited WROX one evening and had a nice chat with Colin J. Sharp - "CJ the DJ". I have an interesting story about his coming to Clarksdale from Chicago. WKDL was an AM day-timer Top 40 station @ 1600 (WKDL - Sweet Sixteen). A boyhood friend of mine, Lee Pellerin, worked there as Lee Cash ('Cash For Free'). He also went to broadcasting school at Keegan's Technical Institute in Memphis around the same time I did. I think WKDL was his first radio job, but he went on to bigger and better things. He had a great set of pipes (much better than mine).
