Classic Atlantic Broadcasting Screw Up !!!

So it was announce that Atlantic Broadcasting is changing 102.7 JSE Rocks July 4th weekend to another top 40 format (thats makes 4 top 40 radio stations). How do I know ??? They were smart enough to tell Equity Communications with a letter to Gary. So now the letter is being sent to clients of Atlantic Broadcasting. Even better they said in the letter it was going on 103.7. Lets play a game its called ruin you 50,000 watter. Atlantic Broadcasting you go first. Another great move !!! WOW John C and Vic genius. Who hired these guys ??? Please guys never leave you will make stations alot of money. It just wont be yours !!!

Thats WHAT I HEARD !!!

Huh?. How can one company plan to have TWO top 40 stations going on 102.7 & 103.7, WITHIN the same market?

HUH!??! Why would they inform Gary? Doesn't that just give Gary time to tighten up his stations and make sure that 4th of July isn't loaded with 28 minutes of commercials an Hr( I bull**** not thats what it was when I worked at AYV). I don't get this...besides the won't touch Ayv or KISS just due to their singnal...What happened to the Spanish rumor? IDK this is weird...But when they moved the JSE signal there was rumors of the CHR switch so is it really a big surprise?

Maybe the wjse is going to switch to top 40 and wmgm fm is gonna switch to someting else. either way with wayv and wzbz its gonna be a full top 40 market. the atlantic city market is a full one it has country,ac,newstalk and sports on fm. what is missing in this area?

All formats are covered besides dance...Maybe JSE could change to a rythmic CHR, do the top 40 thing but include hip hop and songs like La roux..David Guetta ect to counter AYV.The only reason I suggest adding the semi-dance songs is t counter KISS as well...IDK I cant see anything they do beating AYV..its signal is too strong and for some reason their listeners are very loyal. I think they had something with the ALT JSE is seemed to be gaining some momentum before the firings started..IDK

They should serve Atlantic City/Cape May first, but 103.7 has a strong enough signal that they can also target Ocean County with it as well. For sure, with all the Classic Rock competition around here, their audience in this neck of the woods is weak. ESPN Radio on 97.3 has quite a presence around here - the station appears at some events in Southern Ocean County and people are definitely listening in Manahawkin and surrounding areas. Atlantic would do well to learn from Millennium and attempt to broadcast a format that will not only attract in-market listeners, but listeners here as well. They would be smart to either take WJSE or WOND and broadcast it on 103.7, and try a dance-flavored CHR on 102.7 if they're interested in giving the format a whirl. 99.3 Kiss FM has reverted back to a more Urban sound, while WAYV is pretty much an Adult CHR (only difference from regular CHR is that they play something like Rob Thomas, and generally eschew the rap end of things). Assuming the only change is happening on 102.7 ... it's starting to look like AC radio is becoming almost as bland as radio here in Mon/Oc.

How can anyone be serious about all formats being covered in the SJ market....Where is the Full Blown Alternative format or the Hard Rock sound. You must all mean the urbanic format is covered, or should I say saturated....99.3 should revert back to the early 80's sound of "Real Classic Rock in Full Dimensional Stereo" WGFR...

I'm in Seaside Heights tonight, and heard JSE perfectly clear up to the Parkway. I dont know how Manahawkin or Southern Ocean is lacking of rock. WRFF comes in here clear too. Hell, tonight I'm getting AYV's 102.3's simulcast here. The ENTIRE Jersey Shore lacks of a dance format (yes, even tho 96.7 Party is an internet station from Monmouth County) Hell, I wouldnt mind for dance to be on HD. Why not? Party on HD and on W244AS! :D

99.3 Kiss FM and 95.1 WAYV are both top 40 stations owned by EC. If you can be your only competition then y not? Guess it was a smart move by Gfish to turn the Buzz. Its a shame because a lot of people like the alternative format. But those same people dont spend $ advertising..

Follow. the $$$$$$ Alternative doesn't work because of advertising dollars, except in a few select areas.

Still the last thing the area needs is another CHR station

Any updates??? BTW if the letter went to Gary ...why was it sent??? why would JVC want Equity to know its intentions?? No one has answered that question.

Still not a reason to tell your competiton your intentions and the date you plan on attacking..
