Classic cartoon voices

"Actually, Edward Everett Horton narrated "Fractured Fairy Tales"."

You're right! I'm embarrassed about my poor memory...given my family association with Jay Ward. However, it does make my point about Ward using distinguished old film actors as cartoon narrators.

NOW YER TALKING GANG...RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!!!(ha-chi-chi-chi-chi!)

Mel(and son Noel)Blanc
June Foray as Rocky and Ursela(wife of George of the Jungle)
Bill Scott as Bullwinkle and George of the Jungle
Paul Frees as George's ape(named "Ape")

Olivia Newton-John(and daughter Chloe Lattanzi)
David Letterman
Jimmy Buffett
Doug E. Doug
Larry The Cable Guy (Mater the tow truck in "Cars")
Chris Rock
Cheech Marin (Ramone in "Cars")

Another classic voice omitted:

Dick Beals (still with us)

his voices: Ralph Phillips, Speedo, Arthur Spacely, Buzz Conroy (on Frankenstein Jr.) and Birdboy

I hope that all of these great voices still with us (and rels of those who passed) have read these comments on how deeply appreciated they are! :)

Other big names dabbling in toon voices...

Jay Leno ("The Crimson Chin" from, I think, Jimmy Neutron)

Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway (Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy on Spongebob)

And, no less than Walter Cronkite did one of the voices in the pretty much forgotten animated feature, "We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story".

A couple from "Pinky And The Brain" (probably along w/Animaniacs Warner Bros best post golden-age effort).

Rob Paulsen ("Pinky", also Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle "Raphael" and the Animaniacs "Yakko Warner").

Maurice LaMarche ("The Brain", also "Kif" from Futurama, many other characters (who usually sound like Orson Welles, including Mr. Welles himself on an episode of "The Critic")

And nobody's mentioned some of the classic
Disney voices:

Walt himself did Mickey Mouse's voice for
many years.

Donald Duck was voiced by Clarence "Ducky"
Nash for some 50 years.

Goofy: Jack Bailey, host of "Queen For A Day."

Did I miss this one? Paul Frees as Professor
Ludwig Von Drake.

Sterling Holloway as any number of voices,
including the stork in "Dumbo."

And from a different studio: how can we forget
Jim Backus as Mr. Magoo?

In the mid-80s when I was a devoted listener to AT40, I always imagined Casey some week doing AT40, the entire show, in his Shaggy (from "Scooby-Doo") voice. ;D
