Classic Cartoons

TexasTom said:
You can't really blame Hanna Barbara...

And while Hanna Barbara at its peak produced some real crap...

Not to nitpick, Tex, but in the interest of accuracy, Joe's last name was Barbera, not Barbara.

As a child I watched Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, The Mighty Heroes, The Impossibles and Frankenstein Jr., Herman and Katnip, Little Audrey, Deputy Dawg, Quick Draw McGraw, Heckle and Jeckle, Mighty Mouse, Casper, and others I can't think of right now. Wikipedia has been very helpful.

As I got older there were Archie, Josie and the Pussycats and The Wacky Races and their spinoffs.

My personal favorites:

(unmistakebly)Fantasia (Walt Disney)
all cartoons directed by Tex Avery for MGM
early cartoons of Woody Woodpecker 1940s-50s (Walter Lantz/Universal)
Deputy Dawg(Terrytoons)
Batfink (Hal Seeger)
The Bugs Bunny Show..with later incarnations (Warner Bros/ABC)
Rocky and Bullwinkle...all incarnations (Jay Ward)
Dangermouse (Cosgrove-Hall U.K.)
Huckleberry Hound (Hanna-Barbera)
Quick Draw McGraw (Hanna-Barbera)
George of the Jungle (Jay Ward)
Underdog (Total Television)
Xanadu (animated Sonny and Kira sequence by Don Bluth) (Universal)

Oh, yeah. I watched Woody Woodpecker (the new version; more recently I saw his original version and couldn't stand him), Rocky and Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle (that was shown again on ABC on Saturdays when the movie was released), and Underdog.

And The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Top Cat. These were prime-time animated comedies, which Fox has revived. Back then I thought those were just cartoons.
