Classic hip hop is now found on The Beat

... or check out Backspin, Channel 43 on Sirius! It's well worth it. ALL Old Skool, ALL the time. Plus great DJ's like Kurtis Blow, Dana Dane, and others.

I'd tune in to a local station like THAT!! That would be FUN!!

The Rhyme 65 on XM is the best. I would be nice to see a company make a committment to Classic Hip Hop on a full signal FM stick. I would love to be the marketing director for that station. We would be number one in 1 calender year.

It would be nice if CBS would that with either 107.5 or 105.3.

This is about rap and hip hop as a musical art form. Rap and hip hop have no art. There is no singing. The crap is recorded cheaply on music computers and not with live instruments. It is absolutely artless garbage.

Fine. That's your opinion, which has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not classic hip-hop will work as a format.

And not everyone cares about how the music is recorded as a factor in whether or not they enjoy listening to it -- or more specifically, whether they enjoy listening to a radio station which plays that music.

Well Radio Truth, it seems that you are the minority on this thread.

DAMN!!! Right when we were all excited about classic hip-hop, Sirius & XM kill The Rhyme 65 AND Backspin 43?? That hurts. I guess "The Man" really is trying to keep us down.

I guess in Uncle Mel's eyes, rap is all the same. I just can't filter thru this crap of today to hear Public Enemy or Skinny Boys...
