Classic Hits 92.9 Audio Drop Out Problem To Be Resolved Soon

I live down near Scranton, PA. I like the station alot. I think they are going to kill WPDH. I can see the end of WPDH.

Down in Scranton there WEJL owned by Shamrock Communiactions and WILK owned by Entercom Broadcasting. WEJL has their stick on top of the Times Building and the FCC is letting WILK use WEJL stick on top of the Times Building.

I still think that they should use K104 stick for WBPM.

It is common practice for stations to lease another's tower, especially if it's well located, and near their city of license .What they can't do is relocate about 45 miles away from their home town. .This shifts their service area completely .This is particularly true if they move south towards NYC where the dial is congested .The only way they could ever move the transmitter that far south would be to find a different available frequency and go through a lengthily approval process . If they could get this approved I bet the signal have to be highly directional .There are 2 frequencies available one I believe ended up in Rhinebeck, 102.5, This wouldn’t work in Beacon because of 102.7 in NYC and another I think it was 98.9 in Rosendale , both not that far from Poughkeepsie .
As far as the drop outs are concerned since they continue to Use IDSN they should light a fire under who ever is providing it to find the problem.
I have one question for you. What are you using to pick up WBPM way down in Scranton, PA?

I still think WSPK (K104) has the best signal. Didnt they have a liner about reaching 6 states a few short years ago?

I agree... which is why I said 'one of the best'. ;)

WBPM would OWN if they had either one of those signals.

No LOL. I have to help my bother in-law out to pay his bills and he live in Wappingers Fall at the Pavillion. I have a radio set up with a CD recorder and that is were I do my Hudson Valley airchecks. I did some of WBPM but the station does not come in very well. In fact WHUD does not come in well also. I live near Scranton, PA. I live close to I-84 on top of a hill by Hamlin, PA and when the weather is good I can pick up K104 and WHUD but I can not Classic Hits 92.9 WBPM. In fact WHUD comes in same at my house.

I am thinking about coming in on Friday and staying at the Court Yard in Pughkeepise to get some good airchecks of WBPM.

Hey, hv4everandever:

How can you make such a definitive statement:

>>>>They are gone!! Hooray!

so soon after the fact, if you are not Randy?

Read my previous posts...I've already answered that question. I know him and I know the struggles he's had getting the audio drop thing fixed. But once and for all I am not, have never been and never will be Randy Turner.

Got it?

Could you elaborate on what the problem was, and why it took so long to fix it? Are they now running a microwave STL? I am glad not only as a listener , but for his sake, that they got the problem fixed the day before the spring ratings book started.

Spring book starts 4/5, station sounds good and BPM should be a factor in the market. It'll be interesting to see if Mix and PDH continue to react?

I'm glad they finally got their audio dropout issue resolved.

Now can we please drop the two and a half minute self congratulatory promos?

Let the music and the jocks sell the station.

I'm tired of hearing Randy tell me how great they are.

ARE YOU SURE THAT'S RANDY? MIGHT JUST BE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HIM AND THE STRUGGLES HE'S HAD...LIKE, MAYBE...HV4EVERAND EVER???
