From LPFMDatabase Facebook page:
".. KXTJ-LP, 96.9 in San Antonio TX went silent yesterday, 6/13 .. Their statement to the FCC:
SILENT AWAITING REPAIRS
A CATASTROPHIC ANTENNA TOWER FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED TODAY. PERMISSION IS REQUESTED TO REMAIN SILENT UNTIL REPAIRS CAN BE EFFECTED, WHICH IS CERTAIN TO REQUIRE MORE THAN 10 DAYS."

Apparently heavy rain caused their entire tower to collapse. That's just unfortunate.

I saw the post.

"To our Classic Hits Fans,
It's a sad day as our tower collapsed due to the small storm we had a few days ago. I will be bringing up the stream feed later this evening.
Thank you for your patronage. Hope to get 96.9 back on soon but it's going to be a while due to funding or lack of. Thanks again!"

But no stream as of right now or yesterday. The stream is off.

Such a shame. Now I got to use up some cellphone data to listen to the 70's on Sunday.
Hopefully they will get the station back up and running real soon!!!
Even on the weekdays I would listen to their 70's, 80's and early 90's hits.
This is a station that plays all the music I had on my mp3 player I had long ago.

Maybe they can LMA with some big broadcaster with an FCC waiver or something like that?

Mr. 713 I agree, this was the only low power station in town that plays music that's not oldies or Spanish.

When KXTJ-LP comes back, hopefully they do it legally in accordance with their FCC license. From what I know they forgot to file a license to cover after building out their last CP, and it expired. So for a few months KXTJ-LP's height was too much. However since they're apparently repairing the tower soon they should be alright if done correctly.
