Here's the deal Clear Channel is flipping KKSF to KKRC with

Dave Sholan Mornings
Ben Fong Torres Middays
John Mac Flannagan Afternoons
Tommy Saunders Nights

It will be Top 5 in two books

I don't know where you get your information from...but that's not what I read...this is the scheduled line-up confirmed.....

Julius May - Mornings (or whenever he wakes up)
Kenny In Concord -Mid-days
Mike Phillips - Brokered with Music, and Silly Comedy while inebriated
Kenny In Concord - Voice tracked - Evenings
Kenny In Concord - The Best Of -All Night

This line-up starts on a cost cutting move including someone who's willing to donate his EDD check to be on. It Starts on the 1/5/09 on whatever frequency is opened , sold, leased, or brokered.
If any other questions...feel free to reply. I think classic hits are back...better then ever for the new year. Go get em' guys.

When I see that moniker "True Oldies," I think of this Scott Shannon-delivered satellite service,
distributed by ABC Radio Networks:

http://www.trueoldieschannel.com/html/stations.html

I heard it in 2005 while passing through Coos Bay, Oregon, on an FM which, judging
from this webpage's map, is no longer an affiliate...

It didn't do much for me, but - then again - it's better than nuthin' I suppose

If true - I would say it's not better than nuthin.' Classic Hits in low-power, low fidelity static filled monaural - probably off a satellite. Yipee! If not a satellite feed, CBS would probably only spend enough money to have a Saul Levine style AM Oldies format (like 1510 a few years ago) with no on-air people. If you want that, you can shell out a few bucks for an HD radio and hear it on 106.9 HD2 right now - in stereo.

If nothing else, KYCY's current pod-cast format adds some variety and content to the local radio scene...for the few hundred people that are listening, anyway. Going to all the trouble to re-format 1550 just to get a few hundred more listeners seems like a waste of time to me.

Actually it is going to be "News/Turk 810"

Is Stan-Bull-in-the-morning?

News Ankara will be Cy Prus with sports by Atilla the Hun

First documentary will be an expose on the Straights in Bosporus.

come on. I dare ya.

Hey, this is where it's at in pop music these days. You've actually chosen some of the best performers out there. Do you listen to this music or did you Google it?

Well...I like to think I have eclectic taste is music, but Turkish pop haf not yet entered my consciousness, so it was Google. The site I found had some testimonials from Westerners who had stumbled into this music and love it - so I'm going to check it out.

Tripton - Is Stan Bul-ford doing Traffic on NewsTurk 810?

Sorry...

All you morons who doubted what I told you about a new Classic Hits/Oldies starting by January 5th, it actually begins January 1st. Hate to say it, but I told you so!

On behalf of all of us pathetic morons, what station?

(My guess: Clear Channel's doing it with KKSF. Not like I've been wrong before, but...)

No, no, no - WRONG! My prediction: Classic Hits will come to 101.3. Dave Sholin filling in mornings and Celeste Perry filling in mid-days is the clue. My next-door neighbor's cousin's transgender lover's aunt is Don Bleu's housekeeper. According to this reliable source, Clear Channel has decided it's making too much money with Star 101.3, and the fastest way to reduce revenue is to revive the Classic Hits format.

Call letters will change from KIOI ro KRFF, and the station will be called "K-Erff 101."

In related news, Ron Parker has decided to give up his lucrative gig on WCBS-FM New York and return to the Bay Area to do morning drive on the All New K-Erff with Cammy Blackstone. But Don Bleu fans should not despair. Don has decided to delay his retirement, and do the midnight to 6 AM gig for a tenth of his current salary. Quoting Don:

"It's time to bring back live overnight radio for insomniacs, and I'm just the man to do it. Just think of how angry people will be when they get a Bleuper call at 3:00 AM!"

Or I could be wrong, and classic hits will be on some crappy low-power AM.

i'm STILL not believing ANY of it - ONLY when there is an ACTUAL classic hits in S.F. January 5.... 8)

Us morons are still more interested in News/Turk 810,news Director is Al Kyda, with Ali Wantztudoo anchoring the morning news block, Ben Lauden on sports, Is-Stan Bull doing traffic, a weekly show for heterosexuals called the Bosporous Straights, and how about and nightly All-rock-I-rock hour hosted by Sheik Yur Bootee and a Mutten-But-the-Hits weekend show hosted by Casey Kasem? Maybe they can hire the programming geniuses at CBS corporate to pay the bills and promote it.

...or January 1th...or if it's called "Faux Oldies"...or if it even shows up on another HD-2, if not
1550...
And if it IS on 1550, leave the Sunday Noon-to-8 block alone...unless M. Dung gets at least
ANOTHER hour, which he deserves (that was a very good Hendrix spotlight awhile ago, Dungboy!)...

Like Joe McConnell on KGO, Is-Stan Bull must use another name when working on other stations.

On News/Turk 810, it's Is-Stan Bull, not Constan T. Nople.

I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitstaff.

Incidentally, KIOI's standing is well secured. Their 3-book average for 25 to 49 makes them #3. Can't touch that with an oldies format.
