Classic Hits FM101.5

Good start!! I think it will be very successful. There is a few songs that don't belong, but over all it sounds great!!! NWA needed something like this.

I sampled it for a few hours today. The segues are brutal. This method works well on an ipod because everything is liked by the owner. It's a different story on the radio when you're trying to appeal to the masses. If Kruz @ 94.9 did horrible and was forced to flip then this station has the same problem on their hands (especially when you factor in how weak the signal is). My 2 Cents.

Muisically they seem to be somewhere between 93.3 The Eagle and the gold library of Magic 107.9. Seems that about half the songs are either pop or rock songs from the 70s, while the other half can range from the 60s to even as recent as the early 2000s. I heard Sheryl Crow "Soak Up The Sun" (2002).

They seem to have a pretty aggressive marketing campaign. I saw 3 billboards on I-540 today.

Great radio station and very needed in NW Arkansas. I thought that they had a real chance of shaking things up with CC's strangle hold in the ratings, however it's awfully hard to be good if you are not on the air. Seems to be Bunyard's m/o in NW Arkansas, good station from a Programming stand point, seems to be a very good sales team as I hear more local advertisers on their sports station then anywhere else in town, but signal and dead air issues haunt them. Is it time to fire an engineer and hire someone competent enough to make it work? I feel sorry for the people there that are obviously talented, you deserve a better station to work at. Maybe one of the 2 corporate groups will wake up and bring those guys over to run things.

FWIW, their Facebook page has already received more "likes" than Warm 94.9. Not bad...considering it is on a weaker signal that didn't even exist 11 days ago.

I have heard a few songs I haven't heard on the radio in awhile. Here or anywhere else. The library is a bit broad and at times a song will be a bit out of place. I don't have a problem with that though. I would rather have that than play the same 200 or so "safe" songs over and over again.I have a bigger problem with the sub-par audio/music quality. Poor processing?

From what I hear they are putting up the microwave shot today and the issues will be fixed. Station sounds really good, if they get done today what they are supposed to FM 101.5 will be a major player in NW Arkansas.

And they did, just got back home from a drive and the station sounds extremely good. A few tweaks to the processing and the quality will rival the big stations in town. Congratulations FM 101.5 and welcome to the market.

Hey Hoss.. Many radio stations when they first sign on, or change format will have just music for a period of time. According to their Facebook Page, "Live DJ's" will be on the first week of June. You also mentioned "no imaging". Um, what is playing every couple songs? Sounds like imaging to me. Station sounds great, keep up the excellent work 101-5. Sounds alot better after this last weekend too. I predict a top 5 debut in the ratings.

i was asking.....not heard 101.5.

secondly...after 30 years....i'm well aware of sign on and format change strategy. i was simply asking if it was doing it right....or the kths jim earls way. its almost as though he was brought in to destroy that station......which wouldnt take much

I have heard on the streets that their morning talent and afternoon drive talent has been hired and ready to go around the first week of June.

A 52 foot moving van has arrived in Northwest Arkansas, and the New Morning Team is ready to rock this town soon real soon....

No new Moring show today. What happened?

Not sure what you were listening to but I heard a morning show on this morning... They need a little fine tuning but from what I can tell the music is the star anyway and they filled their role well. Station really sounds like a winner to me.

Morning show sounds a little tough to me. There was a lot of interrupting and talking over each other in just the couple breaks I listened to. But that could just be them getting comfortable on the air together. I'm not crazy about the husband / wife combos, because there is always too much of their insider home life being discussed on the air. But I'll give it couple months and see how it shapes up.
