Jack Hammer needs a REAL Morning Show.He used to be part of the woodman show on K-104. Im glad he's back in the market though, he was very funny on K-104 and I was wondering what ever happened to him. Its nice to see him back in Morning radio. WBPM is playing some great music, kudos to PD Randy Turner. I just hope RT brings in a co/host for him soon. Who does a morning show by themselves anymore, or EVER for that matter. I like the overall station better than PDH though, much more variety. It totally rocks and I it slams into my house in PK. PERFECT.

The Negative, I think the fact that the signal is very weak is going to hurt them in the long run and because of that I dont know if it is going to hurt WPDh that much in the books to come. I could b wrong, but I think its inevitable that the mighty 50kw is going to prevail. But you can bet one thing for sure, It doesnt matter who comes out on top, I will be tuned in and locked down on WBPM in my house and in my car. How do you feel about it?
 
I never heard Jack Hammer on K-104, but I like what he's doing on WBPM now, and I agree that an extra "co-host" voice would only cut into the time and attention being given to the music. Alison Dunne does a real nice job with the news during Hammer's morning show...sober, mature, understandable, and locally-focused..a welcome departure from the new breed of "report-readers" who seem to focus on show biz gossip, thinking that's what constitutes the real news these days
 
I think Jack Hammer is a welcome change from the constant chatter and very little music of many other morning shows, especially WPDH .I don't listen to K104 so I don't know if he had comedic talent there. However if he has jokes he could improve the show if he lightens things up a bit, but overall I his is the best morning show in the area. Music in the morning, what a 'novel' idea .I also agree Alison Dunne does an excellent job with the news, providing some details, not just reading the headlines, like other morning show sidekicks do. The Classic Hits morning show is like it was back in the day good music and news, but a little humor to lighten up the morning would help.
 
IMHO, Pamal has the best news staff in the hudson valley; everything else is second rate and you can tell the difference, especially at Cheap channel. I heard that they will be running the syndicated "backtrax" show, with Kid Kelly, on saturday nite, which is a good, well executed show. Sure would be good to see a live, locally based request show on saturday nights, eventually.....Far as I know no one has a live, local request show in the Valley right now.....Spring book coming up, should be an interesting book now that there's some competition!!!

That would be grate to see. K104 had Dr. John Barron on Saturday nights and he had a grate show. That was a nice way to spend a Saturday night.
 
Why are you asking me what high school that attend and if I had a grate graduation? It has nothing to do with what we are talking about.

All I am saying is, I really enjoy driving to work in the morning and listening to something on the radio that has some entertainment value. Yes, I love music in the morning however, I also enjoy hearing some stuff that will make me laugh. Usually, when I hear something in the morning that makes me laugh, I will bring it to work with me and talk about it with co-workers. IE- Hey did you guys hear what happened on blah blah blah this morning.They did this (whatever they wind up doing, prank calls or whatever it is) it was very funny.For me I would love to hear some of that stuff. Its really why I listen to WPDH on my way into work. I really enjoy WBPM and would like to hear some of that stuff. Although, It seems to me Jack Hammer is slowly integrating some pretty cool stuff. I hear some pretty cool produced introductions and what not. Its slowly taking off I think. Im just waiting to hear something a little bit more on the wild side if you will. I caught him talking about the Sopranos this morning with this guy named "Rob the Bull" I am not 100% but I believe its the same guy who used to do the Sopranos stuff on K104 a while back, and Jack was kinda making fun of his stuttering problem a little bit. It was funny. I remember when they used to do that on K104 that would just rip this guy a new one. I hope thats kinda the direction WBPM goes. I love to laugh in the morning it just makes my day.
 
Without Laughter we might as well just all listen to our own C.D's in the car. The Crazy DJ's in the morning is the reason why we all turn on the radio in the first place. If its just music they are playing I'd rather listen to my I-pod. Thanks for Listening to my rant.

If you listened to WBPM this morning Jack Hammer has introduced a sidekick. I listened this morning when I woke up, and almost couldnt believe what I was hearing. Andre from the old K-104 morning show is Jack Hammers new morning sidekick. I must say they work really well together. They were having some laughs, and they had a great introduction for him. Apparently he left a radio job in Las Vegas to come back to the Hudson Valley. It seems to me its not over done with talk and worthless crap. Its still very solid with music but the laughs are there. Im really happy with how not only the station sounds but how the morning show is set up in general. I think they have the juice to win, especially now that they are bringing in the big guns. I can only imagine what Andre is going to bring to this show. I cant wait to hear it. Comments?
