I taped this in June of 1987 on WNBC several years before Imus went into Syndication. His show wasn't political. Personally I feel that a political Imus is a boring Imus. I wish his show had kept the same kind of format that you'll hear in the following clip. Which Imus do you prefer? The one on the radio today (or) The Imus from 1987.
