"Classic" Lite FM

We all know that Lite FM, in their original mode, dominated the NY listening market for years. Based on the current PPM, they're still near the top, even with the notable changes to their playlist. Personally, I find listening to songs like Boston's "More Than A Feeling" and "Get Into The Groove" by Madonna on Lite FM, more than a bit odd. While I know they made these changes to their format to fend off perceived competition from Fresh and PLJ, I'm curious as to why nobody has picked up their previous playlist? Whether you like them or not, those "tired, old, boring" songs still made Lite the number one station in the number one market, right up until the time they made their changes. I think a floundering station (RXP?) would do well re-introducing a "Classic Lite" format. Thoughts?
