Classic Rock With Too Much Talk

Tucson has two stations playing exactly the same music. 96Rock and Rock107.5. Then we have 97.5 playing rock hits until they switch to the Hot Talk format. So why would 96 Rock be talking for 7 to 9 minutes at a stretch?

What makes it worse is they were doing the lamest of all time version of Battle of the Sexes. Which KRQ has been doing with John, Jay and Rich; Mojo and Betsy; Tim and Willie; Mike Adams and anybody else doing mornings there since 1985.

AND they are doing it wrong. They don't even understand what battle means (a female vs. a male at the very least). They have a listener play (with no theme music or sound effects so it is even more boring to hear) against whichever morning show team member they choose. Like the female caller who chose the girl from the show (Christal?)to play against. So stupid.

Today while they were oh so lamley (verry sorry "lamey" because we are used to getting so much more from you and the Whale)wasting valuable air time, 107.5 was playing Eagles, Dire Straights, Toto, Tom Petty, etc.

One of those promotional things that we had to put a twist on..I thought it was at least something different.

Its so cool that you were listening to our 9 minute long bit while they were
playing all those tunes and yet you still were able to to pick up both! Awesome, thats what I call Multi Talented! (Don't Apologize, hopefully it served some - can't please everybody, but thanks for noticing. By the way..who is the whale, I always thought it was me...now wheres the....oh...I get it...jonah...the whale..thats some comedy!)
 
Lliving in Phoenix, it's nice to have these two stations in the car because the two Phx. classic rock stations are kind of weak though KSLX has gotten better recently.

KDKB has been through some changes with a good number of the upper management changing. I always wondered how tough that was programming and traveling across the US every week! I never though Tim and Mark would leave there, they were truly a good show from what I heard. I met them when they started out and always thought they had a ton of talent and were great guys. How has the new show caught on? Has it? I heard Corey Stone was there doing a shift? It surprises us the callers we get from Avondale, Chandler and Phoenix, I am sure KHYT gets some as well with its signal.

KLSX is running Adam in the morning? How is that show?

I would like to think that KDKB has gotten a '2nd wind ' with the recent management/on-air changes. One could hope that things will get better with these changes. I'm surprised Joe Bonadonna stayed that long . Pretty amazing . Tims a whole different story. A class act indeed

Any word on how Phoenix is warming up to JJ&R? Saw Rich the other day and he seems really enthusiastic about it
