Classic TV on Sundance

I was flipping through the dial this morning and discovered that Sundance is showing classic sitcoms on Weekday mornings. Today it was All in the Family. Other days they carry MASH and The Mary Tyler Moore, (70's) Bob Newhart, and Andy Griffith shows.

When did this start? I'm guessing it was fairly recent because on the MASH episodes scheduled for next Monday they're still in the first season.

Yes, I think this is pretty recent. I like it. The All In The Family episodes are not exactly new as they have been run by other cablenets in recent years. Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore are another story. Many of these episodes have not been seen on cable for years. I watched a block of Bob Newhart this morning and have to admit they are still funny and quite relevant today.

As a sidelight, I don't think Mary Tyler Moore ever released their DVD collection after season 4. At the least, very hard to find. So if Sundance gets that far, it will definitely be saved DVR material.

Shout Factory recently released several MTM shows on DVD including Mary Tyler Moore and both Bob Newhart shows and WKRP in individual season and complete series sets.
