Classic TV Programs in Modern TV Shows

OK, I was making a post elsewhere and this just struck me and had to start the topic.

How many current (or semi-current) modern day shows showed some identifiable portion of a classic television show?

Here's what brought this to my mind. On an episode of Nickelodeon's "iCarly" the title character, played by Miranda Cosgrove, was bathing in the tub and watching television. Of course, she was watching the classic episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show where Laura Petrie got her big toe stuck in the tub's faucet. I don't think I need to tell you what plot twist took place in the iCarly episode.

I'm curious if anybody has caught anything similar to today's modern day television programs.

MTM with her toe caught in the tub faucet?

OH GAWD.....THROW SOME COLD WATER ON ME>>>>>>QUICK!!!!!!!! ;D

I wish I could find the actual quote, but Carl Reiner once said that with that one plot point, they got all of the show's male viewers to simultaneously imagine Mary Tyler Moore naked.

As well as all the readers of that post.

The Nanny had a reference to That Girl in one episode. I forget the exact scene. Maybe it was a Mary Tyler Moore spoof, I think she threw her hat in the air. Can any help recall this?

Obviously, no one here has ever seen an episode of Family Guy.

If you're talking about the "Conway Twitty" inserts and the "Dallas" bit with Duffy and Principal on FG, right? I've seen them before but when I started this thread I was initially thinking about live action shows and not necessarily cartoons.

No, I wasn't. Almost every episode alludes to some other TV show. You listed two examples. I thought you were looking for TV shows. Last time I checked, "Family Guy" is one.

I thought my example in the thread's initial post was clear but maybe I missed something. The idea was for a modern day (within a decade, perhaps two) show that actually features a piece of a "classic" show within the program. This is why I cited the iCarly episode where she was actually watching the Dick Van Dyke show and that real show footage was being displayed on the tv screen in the iCarly episode.

Granted, the "Dallas" spoof in Family Guy wasn't an original piece of footage from Dallas, but the Conway Twitty show footage was a fine example of actual "classic" show footage appearing in a modern program.

Well, there is that episode of 2 & 1/2 Men where Charlie 's watching a Yosemite Sam cartoon at the end.
