A commercial break from WLNE/6 circa 1991, during a showing of the movie "Coming Home" - watch for the promo for "A Current Affair Extra" in this one (remember, this was from their "Share The Experience" days):

Another break, same movie, same year... hey, who wants to see Frank Sinatra? Watch George Allen for your chance to win!

Fast forward to 1994, a commercial break from the end of the CBS show "Guiding Light" - tells you how old these airchecks are getting, folks... Here, we have amongst others, promos for things such as the old CBS sitcom "Good Advice." Writes the YouTube poster: "I completely forgot Shelley Long did another show post-Cheers". (He's not the only one! The thing is, we started forgetting, say, in 1995... ;D ) Also, at the 3:29 mark, you can see a "6 News Up To The Minute" news brief. (By this time, WLNE changed their logo to the current "6" logo still in use today.) Pamela Watts teases the day's top stories, then a check of the traffic from Steve Codo (sp?), "live from the CBS Samaritan Van." Steve then throws it to meteorologist John Ghiorse, who reports the weather on this day has been "hot and oppressive." Oppressive? To describe weather? Boy, there's a first...

Another break from the end of a different episode of "Guiding Light," but the anchor and meteorologist are different (Estepa, Cascione). Same Steve guy from the "CBS Samaritan Van." Let me ask you, when WPRI picked up the CBS affiliation in 1995, was this van part of the deal? ;D Also, watch for the "seashore" legal ID to close out this break.
