North Georgia Clayton (Rabun County) Losing Heritage Station

I've been following the "chess moves" of owner Art Sutton on the FCC website for some time regarding this move - about 2 years now I guess. Now, the station makes it official (for those who don't pour over the FCC Daily Digest) by announcing Clayton's FM is moving to Toccoa. I initially thought how can a community lose (via a move) what I thought was Clayton's only broadcast service. Then an engineer told me about Truth FM's WTGM 91.7 which is licensed to Clayton. But I think many local listeners won't realize they still have a local radio station. RIP, WRBN. It's sad to see these changes happening all around, but I get it - you gotta make money. Not bad for only 115 watts on WNCC ... and WMIT is using a translator off them (HD3?) on 101.3 for that area (and similar power/coverage with 114 watts - I guess power can't exceed the main signal).

Not that long ago I remember it was almost impossible to hear anything on the dial (even WKSF) deep in the mountains near Cherokee & Bryson City.

Even the Country Format now on 101.7 doesn't go far at all into NC & GA Mountains, and pretty much a Oconee/Walhalla SC station, but not too far from Clayton, I guess Toccoa will do the same with this new station, just by moving down a few miles from Rabun County, into Stephens County, and it still should be somewhat audible (although a bit weaker) in that area.
 
Bummer. Black Rock (former WRBN) is such a cool place to launch a radio signal. Great views to the south as well. Too bad Georgia's only ski resort (Sky Valley) closed a few years ago.
 
Was WRBN originally in Warner Robins, back in the 1960's to the 1980's? The band Rehab had a tribute song for WRBN on their album Million Dollar Mug Shot (2017)
