Well, the Wave is really ebbing. I was impressed by it's fast start, but now the ratings are where they were as "V107.3". I wonder if anybody at RCRG is kicking themselves for not choosing Alternative over this. Does anybody have any demo numbers for the Wave, because those old demos can't be selling too well?
When was the last time 'NCX was rated THIS HIGH? And when was the last time 'TAM rated THIS LOW? Are people genuinely sick of Conservatalk here?
Everything else here looks pretty normal.
Finally, any numbers for 87.7?

You may also want to post the January '12 to January '13 comparisons. Each month has a different set of circumstances (seasonal, vacations, etc) and it is often very revealing to see "same month last year".

Can you post those comparisons?

I understand that WTAM's January to January comparison is shockingly bad, plus big losses for Kiss 96.5, The Wave, and WDOK.

I also understand that 87.7 is down to a .6 from a .7 the previous month, with the worst time period being morning drive (no surprise if you've ever heard it) with a .4.

I'm trying to stay away from actual numbers, so I'm posting what's recent with the stations and where they are ranked. I also post based on what I've seen online and not really able to post from last year. I think you (HHH) did a good job with the comparison yourself.

I will add that WDOK's loss is huge because of their confusing image and loss of their marquee morning show. Time will tell if New 102 was a smart move.

CLEVEFAN... What is the order you're using? 12 plus? 25-54? 35-64?

12 plus WMJI #1 JAN PPM. And #1 Cume. WHLK, #2 cume.

HOLIDAY PPM WMJI #1 12 plus. It's cume is off substantially from Holidays to JAN.

Top 10 12 plus in order, JAN PPM

WMJI-FM
WGAR-FM
WNCX-FM
WZAK-FM
WHLK-FM
WDOK-FM
WENZ-FM
WQAL-FM
WTAM-AM
WMMS-FM

Top 10 Cume, 12 plus

WMJI-FM (50,000 ahead of #2)
WHLK-FM
WDOK-FM
WQAL-FM
WAKS-FM
WNCX-FM
WGAR-FM
WMMS-FM
WTAM-AM
WENZ-FM

30 years ago what is now #1 cume wouldn't have made the Top 10.

12 plus (or 6 plus as mentioned on the overall ratings) is what I'm using VODood. What are your thoughts on the stations and how they did?

In most markets in 2013, alternative is among the worst money makers among niche formats: a very narrow audience who are at the point in their lives where they have minimal spending power, and unusually high levels of unemployment.

That usually doesn't excite enough advertisers to make such a station's ad revenue viable.

i.e.: a 2% to 3% share in women or adults 25-54 or 35-54...even 45-64 will generate a lot, lot more potential ad revenue than even a 3% to 6% share of much younger, primarily male listeners.

How did WNCX get so high is my question? The playlist is basically the same for the past how many years? Good for them if they gained that high.

They finally found a stable morning show with Slats, and it trickled down from there.

Also, Cleveland sticks with the "tried and true" media-wise a lot more than other towns.

Could WONE's ratings go up now that Jeff Kinzbach is hosting mornings? I think they will in Akron and maybe in Cleveland too.
