Clea Simon: Can't You Ever Get It Right?

If you read The Boston Globe's Clea Simon article on WBIX you will read that the investment manager who stole money from his clients to run WBIX was a guy named "Barry" Bleidt. No, Clea, it was BRAD Bleidt. Poor "Barry" is now in a heap of trouble.

Nonetheless, interesting to read that through the effort of Alex Langer, who the court directed to run WBIX, the station may make a come back. Langer talks about moving the station to Union Wharf in the North End of Boston.

Apparently, this effort is to put the station up for sale. Simon did not say whether he would be in the bidding for the station. Doubtful since Bleidt - Brad Bleidt still owes Langer millions.

Langer is a good guy. Hope he gets his money back for all his effort.

Boston Globe Admits Reporter Error: Prints Correction. [STANDING HEADLINE FOR SIMON COLUMNS]

See Boston Globe Correction Page 2: "Bradford C. Bleidt".
Now why couldn't Clea Simon get it right the first time?
Even the Boston Globe called it a "reporting error." So, what's new with her column.

I cant believe that no one there has called her on her errors until now. Without fail virtually every story she writes contains something wrong, virtually every one. It's sort of funny at this point.

Re: Boston Globe Admits Reporter Error: Prints Correction. [STANDING HEADLINE FOR SIMON COLUMNS]

Clea is a nice person, but that doesn't mean she deserves to be mailing in "her" radio column, which appears to be lifted off of press releases at times.

Is she a radio critic or a typist? If she's a typist, why all the typos?

The Globe just dismissed two writers, including the full-of-himself Jim Sullivan.

For a two newspaper town we've got Dean Johnson quitting The Herald and Clea Simon failing to provide the public with information. Forget about the fact that she got Bleidt's name wrong - factor in all the information she isn't putting in the pages of The Boston Globe.

The Globe should hire Mark Schneider bostonradio@ you know where

what's his webpage again? Someone forward it to the Globe Editor (Scott Heller??)

Re: Boston Globe Admits Reporter Error: Prints Correction. [STANDING HEADLINE FOR SIMON COLUMNS]

They never corrected the error in the Jurkowitz article about WKOX and WXKS. Said they were both daytimers, though admittedly the person they contacted at Boston's Progressive Talk supposedly had said this. Or maybe he (contact person)had said "our signals aren't as good after dark so it's almost like we're not on". Had Jurkowitz checked the WKOX/WXKS website, or maybe even tuned in (does he live close to Boston?), he would have noticed the stations are indeed on past sunset.

So the Globe ("tonight's Red Sox game is on WEEI-FM (850)"--(sic)) led people to believe that the AAR stations go off at sunset, and would not publish the correction I emailed to both them AND Jurkowitz. The Globe's here!<P ID="signature">______________
