Clear Chanel HDs

I went out for dinner last night and noticed all of the CC HDs were up and running. Unfortunately the stereo I bought last month does not have multicast capabilities, something I expected was in all HD radios...so I don't know about the multicasts. It's nice to have no more multipath noise on the buzz...

Supposedly all the CC HD2's in Houston were to launch today 1/26.

If anyone is capable of hearing them, let us know the quality...and if anyone is running an HD3 stream.

The CC Houston HD2's are streamed...check out http://www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio/

I wish there was a place to find out the true coverage area of these signals.

Energy 96.5 is back

But it's on the HD2 stream and it's called Digital Energy 96.5 or something close to that.
I'm listening online at work and I keep missing exactly what they say.
It's not dance like the Pre-Mix Energy from the late 80's/early 90's was though.
It's Top 40 like was previously indicated.

The Arrow has had HD on for quite a while and I estimate it to be about 65 miles on my car stereo. Similar for The Point. I'm sure you would get 70-90 miles with a good outdoor antenna.

Who's the VO guy/people. Is it the same one that was doing it for Energy?

What is an HD3 stream? How many digital channels can there be for each station?

Re: Energy 96.5 is back

"Who's the VO guy/people. Is it the same one that was doing it for Energy?"

I can't say for certain, but it sounds like the same guy doing the VO for Mix.
I don't know who the guy was for Energy, but it's not him.
This sonds like some guy using his normal voice with very little if any filter on it.
You can listen for yourself online if you like.
Here is the backdoor link to the stream that you can plug right into your Windows Media Player.
There's also a link to it on the Mix home page and you can find a list of all of CCs HD2 streams at http://www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio/

As for it being called Energy, I wish they would have used something else for a CHR format such as the KISS brand they have for their other CHRs.
Most Energy stations I know of are Dance just like the old Energy 96.5 was.
If Mix were ever to switch to a KISS CHR and then use the HD2 as an Energy dance station, that would be cool.
They could even take the old logo and give it a makeover to modernize it a bit.<P ID="signature">______________

Re: Liquid Buzz

I've been hopping around the internet listening to the HD side channels that Clear Channel has. Some are very interesting. I like the liquid buzz too. Hopefully, as the HD side channels roll out natiowide, they'll all be different like these.

I really like the AAA station they have for KKRW. Maybe I'll have to buy a HD radio, but I doubt I'd be able to pick anything up in Beaumont.
