Clear Channel adding new digital formats in RI?

Big spread in today's ProJo about Sirius and XM along with a second article by Andy Smith interviewing people from Citadel and Clear Channel. Citadel's general manager Barbara Haynes, Tony Bristol, and Jim Corwin at Clear Channel were interviewed. Along with the usual spin Corwin says Clear Channel is planning to add new digital formats in RI this year with AAA, 80s, and alternative rock formats all possibilities. So what does that actually mean with the possibility of those formats in the state? Anyone care to translate?

Sounds like HD sub channel streaming. So that HD.2 streams on the other CC stations in the market will carry these formats.

Queation? How many HD channels can be carried on each station? I thoiught it was the one that's it.

WWBB broadcasts in high deph. Can they add other HD channels to 101.5?

Nope. All stations will likely run HD-2, with an alternate format than HD-1, though some older HD receivers cannot pick up the signal. HD-3 was being tested in Chicago, but it made all of the HD signals sound lousy so it was turned off.

Yup. B-101 is being heard on 101.5 HD-1, and an alternate format will likely be run on 101.5 HD-2.
