Has anyone heard any rumors of additional markets that Clear Channel is thinking about entering with the format. Obviously it makes it an easy transition by just turning on the 'switch' and airing the format. Especially since they are going satellite only in Dallas....I have been hearing they may enter a midwest market with it but I am not too sure where.

Well I thought, well actually I had heard a rumor that La Preciosa was going to be here in houston tx on 101.1 hd 2. But that never happend. It would had been great if instead of making those horrible changes of Mega 101 they would had made La Preciosa 101. But that didnt happend either.
If they put them on in H-town then its totally turnkey and they don't have to hire another DJ just a production person and some remote monkey.....Typical for CC
With CC now having to sell off 4 of it's major La Persiosa outlets, I think the clock is ticking on this "network".

It's a great network,................................. until Univision showed up and beat them inside out with Recuerdo. They'll do ok in other markets where they have no competition from Univision. But if they have some type of direct competition, they'll have to scramble and actually put effort into the station.RadioFanBoy said:

I actually enjoy this "La Preciosa", it switches from the Regional Mexican Oldies/Adult Hits into a Variety station at night. I hear Vicente Fernandez and Montez de Durango, mixed in with some Julieta Venegas, and topped off with Roberto Pulido. Where else in Texas can you find that type of variety?

It sounds like they are doing the format locally. Daytime is not regional based, but ballads and grupera on the Preciosa network, so they much have full local control. If they do, it is the only one.
Only in the evenings. From the start of the "Genio Lucas" show all the way to 3 in the afternoon, it is satellite. 3-8 PM, it is all local. from there on, they switch back to the satellite feed. It is funny too because they don't care how to switch it. One songs ends, and out of nowhere, the station cuts into the middle of another song, thus, the satellite feed starts.DavidEduardo said:

What he meant to say is that it is very hard to go back into the satellite feed since La Preciosa is all satellite. It is hard to finish a local song at the same time as the satellite song. La Preciosa in Bryan TX cuts off local programming, and then cuts into satellite feed when it is in the middle of a song or those PSA's.

You need to back track the clock and end you song right before the top of the hour. Have a filler (no lirics song recommended) and play it after your song finishes. Listen to the feed and when it goes silent, you fire your Legal ID folowed by the Macro. Is very clean. ;D

After the dust has settled down from the selling of CC La Preciosa Network kept Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. Kudos to La Preciosa
