Clear Channel automation screw-up

Clear Channel and automation go hand-in-hand just like a spoon and ice cream, milk and cereal, and Fenway and bricks.

automation that never screws up

Here at WLYN and WAZN, we use a system called Smartcaster,
which comes out of Iowa. It runs on a standalone MS-DOS.
It is a beautiful thing: it never crashes or screws up. EVER!!!
To the point: when WAZN first came on the air, it used a newer version
of Smartcaster. The silly thing had 2 boxes, 3 clocks, and 3 operating systems.
I traded that for the old reliable DOS, and never looked back!

Back when I was an intern at the old WBZ-FM (1976) it was an IGM system -
advanced for its time. Batch cards, lots of cart decks, several reels. A nightmare!
