Clear Channel Blows UP 1530??

It appears that a meeting held about a half an hour ago has produced more local CC cuts. Daugherty's name is gone from the 700 website, replaced by Sportstalk with Lance. Evidently, local/Lexington hosts are now gone from 1530 as well. This leaves 1480 with one of only three local sports talk shows left in Cincy if all of this is true....Saturday Morning Sports Talk with Richard Skinner and Glenn from Mason on 1480, Sunday Morning Sports Talk with Ken Broo on 700 and Nightly Sports Talk with Lance McAllister on 700. Good luck to all that have been escorted from the building once again. They are good people and I would never say nothing bad about them because Puff is a nice dragon.

I'm sorry to hear that. What are they going to do with the signal?
Why not at this point...
Move Mike and Mike, and the first 2 hours of The Heard over to 1530 and throw Dan on later?
I hope all locals find a place to go quickly.

Oddly, Mo's blog is still listed on the "on-air" page. Either they forgot about it or what...

Mo will be doing the 3-6 shift when Lance is doing sports on WLW.

So, where's that "localism" that Clear Channel promised a week or so ago? ???

Localism? That would be the commercials. Some of them. The rest of it... is going to the bird(s).

Scott Sloan doing Extra Innings? Give me a break! If CC cannot operate these stations profitably, why not sell the stations?

No one is buying stations. The lenders don't want them back, and no one else wants them either. Even if they did, don't expect they would stuff stations with bodies again.

this economy is where no one will be working at radio stations on a local level too much longer. im still waiting for CC with its traffic departments to go to a hub like system like CBS/Westwood One did with Metro Networks

CC should just sell 1530 to the WDJO folks. It would be nice to hear the oldies again blasting away with 50kw.
Amen & pass the dittos...

This could be very interesting, Bob [and microbob] – given the folks involved at WDJO. I highly suspect, though, that CCU would not cut loose of that facility [even though they should – and have exhibited NO ability to productively use it]. CCU clearly needs to shed radio stations to satisfy their “financial masters”... So, maybe there is “hope”. I like WDJO – in fact, I’m a person that strongly believes that they are an exemplary and potentially-productive advertising buy - ready to reach a apprecitive and money-laden group in Cincy – regardless of age and the station's nighttime deficiency... but I also like your 1580 WIFE—Connersville, and pray that they are doing well... ‘Maybe I’m in an orbit too far from the sun [I SURE HOPE NOT]! ;)

hey guys how about this one... ESPN sports goes to 1530 WCKY and 1360 WSAI will be available for the WDJO folks to pick up... I have always said those guys want WSAI more then anything else..

CC's Premire Networks Owns Fox Sports Radio. there is no way CC will Abandon FSR to Put ESPN on the 50K stick. if they would give 1360 to the WDJO guys ESPN Radio would be looking for a new home in cincy. CC/FSR are in bed together so there is no way they would abandon their baby for the other family's baby
