Saw this on the Radio Business board and thought I'd link here, since Metro/Shadow traffic has been in the Sac area so long.

I worked for Shadow and Metro from the late 90's until the Sac metro office closed down several years ago. best part of the job was doing news and traffic for all kinds of formats and interacting with their talent, variety in formats, approaches etc.
In the few years before Metro here closed we had speculated about Clear Channel buying Metro, and here we are. I've been out of the loop to a large degree of how having SF folks do traffic worked out. I'd imagine lack of familiarity of the reporters with Sac's roads and what's happening locally took away from the reports and any on-air interaction. As said in the thread I linked, these days I don't necessarily need radio to tell me about delays (although it's nice), I can use my smart phone and it tells me all that
Any other former Metro folks or local talent who has dealt with Metro have any thoughts on this?
