Clear Channel camersial load on XM

I hear CC put earth-based stations on XM.
So, is this one of those where CC runs all programming except local camersials?
When local camersials run, XM runs there own camersials?

Wow, that's gotta be funcky sounding...
I'm thinkin what of the different processing chains?
That sounds odd to me playing songs over those. I thought CC ran camersial operations on XM?
I remember before with CC runnin the XM programming, they had camersials, all be it short breaks. National ones.

not really...the automation selects the proper length fill tunes to cover the local spots.
not exactly rocket surgery...uhhh...wait...

I know some people are in an uproar over CC placing a few of it's major OTA FMs on XM....I for one am enjoying it, and yes Commercials are deleted in favor of additional music cuts. I'm only sorry the CC stations aren't available on XM's online service--I wonder why?

I like it.. this is the kind of thing that make satelite service great. I miss the days when you could get the local stations of diferent cities on satellite..

During WSIX's last run on XM, there were only 15 or so "fill" songs of the proper length in the rotation. I remember Brooks & Dunn's "Red Dirt Road" getting four or five spins a day -- a recurrent in saturation rotation!

Oh, and the word is "commercial." I know, nobody likes a spelling cop, but a basic-vocabulary word being mangled like that is just wrong.

Im glad that on XM-12 Z-100 NY is running Elivs Duran In The Morining Show and on XM-11 is KIIS-FM Kiss 102.7 with Ryan Seacreat with Ellen K in the morining in LA.

Would be nice if they added a classic hits or oldies station.

Does Sirius XM get to advise Clear Channel on what it should put on its channels under the long-term "programming agreement," or is CC's bandwidth pretty much a private playground for CC, to do with what it wants? If the latter, what to prevent CC from making one of its channels leased-time ethnic and really raking in the dough?

I'm surprised CC put both Z100 and KIIS up on the sats, previous to separate programming on the sats, CC only carried KIIS on XM. I would have thought they would have put a rock station on, like Q104. They still program ex-Rock@Random now known as Sixx Sense Channel 164 so maybe down the road they'll pull the plug on that and add one of their FM rock stations. Interesting to see they added their Chicago Urban AC station...

I'm not saying funcky sounding due to bad timeing from the automation system, I'm thinking the over-the-air has processing, the music run during breaks have different processing. That's gotta sound odd.
Unless they run feeds directly off the board for each station, and the processing is put on at the site of XM's Transmitter.

Re: Clear Channel Commercial load on XM

Interesting how this has gone full circle. I got XM early and remember all the CC radio stations on there before they changed them to Mix and Kiss etc. Weird having some of the exact same radio stations back after all these years, not that I'm going to listen to them. I actually like the SiriusXM stations over the CC stuff.

You maybe right about this one. Maybe someday they'll pull the plug on the Sixx Sense Channel and add one of their Classic Rock radio stations, like WRFX in Charlotte, NC! I would also like to see them add one of their CHR/Rhythmic stations to the mix, maybe KYLD(WiLD 94.9) in San Francisco!

This is awful. I got satellite radio to get away from the cookie-cutter, commercial filled terrestrial radio. I took MIX and KISS off my presets....CHEAP CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS

Another question...What is that annoying music bed XM Radio uses whenever one of their channels is having technical problems?
