CLEAR CHANNEL "CHRISTMAS" CUTS!

This seems to be an annual Holiday tradition at Clear Channel. Here's the major markets Urban cuts:

Detroit
MIX 92.3/Urban AC
FRANKIE DARCELL(afternoons)

Tampa
95.7 THE BEAT/Urban
STU(afternoons)

Chicago
V103/Urban AC
Glenn Cosby(Quiet Storm)

INSPIRATION 1390/Gospel
Effie Rolfe (APD/MD/middays)

Soon...every city that has a CC Urban station will go like this...

6a-10a: Steve Harvey, Syndicated Show or Music
10a-2p: Uptown Angela
2p-6p: Big Nat
6p-10p: T-Roy
10p-2a: Chris Michaels

Really sorry to see this!

Glenn Cosby is such a pro, he had been at V-103 Chicago for many, many years. Before that he was on urban AC The Touch satellite service in the 90s and I even remember him on the old Heart and Soul urban oldies satellite service in the late 80s.

Effie Rolfe goes back at least 20 years on 1390 AM Chicago. She was on the great urban oldies Dusty Radio 1390 before the station went to Gospel.

Frankie Darcel also goes back well into the 90s on Detroit radio, she was on the once-great WJLB before moving to WMXD.

It is really sad when a top-rated, top-billing station like WVAZ is running "the Sweat Hotel" like every small town CC station around the country, that says a lot about a company trying to milk profits rather than providing compelling programming. Nothing against Keith Sweat, but if you are going to put the same way Quiet Storm show on every station you own, why not get a pro to do it like Mel DeVonne or Glenn Cosby?

I would not be surprised to hear that other local treasures like Tony Brown at WDAS-FM will soon be replaced by Keith Sweat as well, it has already happened at several other once great urban heritage stations.

you know its funny but here in Jacksonville, T Roy is local...but he Voice tracks all of nearly all of Clear channel urbans except for small markets where he do weekends i know in Albany, GA. Same goes for KJ Brooks and Jo Jo.. they are local here but you can hear then damn near all over the country..hell i heard KJ in Virginia...Clear Channel may as well go on to become fully automated like The Touch. Just put the same people on every station whether its urban, country, or Top 40.

Z92.3 (KIIZ-FM, Killeen, TX) already has T-Roy and Chris Michaels voicetracking through the station via iHeartRadio. I have already gone listening to different stations because of this matter.
