Clear Channel Cuts Staff

I heard CC cut staff in two markets today? Anyone hear what two? Are they pull a CBS and dumping people? Wow, this business is sure in trouble if the big boys can only fire employees to make the balance sheet look better.

I've been wondering if Clear Channel will cut staff, What I don't understand is why they waste so much money on high priced engineers, everyone knows you can get alone with just one engineer in any size market, and for small markets you can get a good contract guy. I work for CC in Springfield, and I worry about my gig every day.

Clear Channel is just like any other company people don't matter and are a liabilty. So, they bs about our people being what it takes to win and be successful, just let them have a bad quarter, and you'll see the pink slips fly.

Is anybody suprised that CC would do such a thing? If they VT from out of market into Springfield, think of the money they save in a non-rated market.

I hear they aren't the only broadcast company cutting back these days. CBS recently cut back, I hear the Entercom is in the process, and so is ABC. SO, what is wrong with this business. And we wonder why its hard to find good people to fill out positions?
