Clear Channel Cuts?

Not that I have heard, but I would not be surprised if there have been/will be. Of course I hope not, but what I really want to happen (and I know it won't anytime soon) is for CC to sell off all of their Lexington and Louisville stations to much smaller companies that actually care about radio and programming stations well. Maybe then we'd get back a lot of local staff and not have to put up with having to listen to idiots like Ryan Seacrest and Dave and Jimmy.

Agree.... the only station lexington has to sell is 105.5 WWRW? It's one of the better stations in town ;)

Sadly CC isnt gonna Sell stations unless they are already obligated to (The Ahola Trust Stations). so i dont see Louisville & Lexington going bye bye

Other than going to all out of state talent, who could they really cut? WHAS only programs 13 hours a day anyway.

I'd like to see a recent Lexington ratings sheet to see how much the live/local is making a difference on the Top40/CHR stations. I'm all about live and local myself, but you know a lot of people probably don't care if their song is playing by a DJ downtown or one all the way across the country.

You have ClearChannel on 104.5 that is rocking out to their networked personalities that are on-air in several markets...and (I believe) the dj's on WCDA 106.3 are live and local...right? How is that station doing in comparison to the Clear Channel station?

I just don't feel like WCDA is the "big popular station in town." But I think stations like it (not just that one) should be more noticed. Are they???

Talked with a friend Monday who has been with CC in Lex for a long time. He told me that they are down to about 35 people in the entire building. So this last round of cuts really didn't hit them. They don't have a lot that can get cut. That includes sales...
