Clear Channel - Duplicating Playlists

If you have some time, sit down and pick a genre of music. Then, go and select a few websties from random cities across the nation of stations that are owned by clear channel with the same genre of music and check out the "last 10 played". Better yet, check out the "radio jocks".

I've done this with two stations:

1- 100.3 the Buzz Greensboro
2- Project 96.1 Atlanta

Both stations are playing the same thing and have most of the same dj's. Did further research and noticed that the same was done on two alternative rock stations; one in Dallas Texas and the other in Houston Texas.

Are there any other corps that are doing this? Does this not make Clear Channel the worse of the worse when it comes to originality. I don't think Cumulus has went this low considering how much freedom WNNX has had with it's music over the last year. So clear channel simply has a bunch of mini syndicated radio stations around the country? Does anyone have any further information on this.

Yup. Rock Nation (an iheartradio station) is synced up with Project 9-6-1 as well. I've noticed that all the talents at 100.3 the Buzz are all what I like to call "syndicated talents". All of those talents you see on their website can be found doing overnights and weekends at almost every clear channel rock/alternative station. Some of those stations are completely voicetracked by those same people.

To quote an earlier thread about Premium Choice, "if BDS and Mediabase see that a station is running a national playlist instead of a local playlist, they'll be dropped from the reporting panel. Or grouped into a single reporter, as Mediabase did with CC Premium Choice stations."

Is that the case with WKLS now?
