Clear Channel F*** the wrong town this time

Clear Channel messed with the wrong town this time, turns out the Mayor and her husband are seasoned radio people from Los Angeles, and the newspapers reporter is also a seasoned broadcaster of 47 years. Now a state senator and congress men are involve! These people mean business, and are really P.O. at Clear Channel for telling them fold face lies to thier faces. This could be a model for other community LPFM radio stations where the City and members of the community unit with a common goal, I will keep you posted. Stay tunes as all hell is about to break loose! every element that is needed to justify a LPFM station is here, just as what is wrong with local community radios stations being stolen by mega broadcasters like Clear Channel.
This one could mean thousands of lives at stake.

Sounds as bad a ****up as the time they filed the petition to move WWVA
from Wheeling to Cleveland and felt the wrath of Sen. Byrd.

WWVA! Wow, I did a few shifts there. I worked for Lite Rock WK97.3 FM in Wheeling. We were doing just fine, then one day all but two stations in town suddenly were owned or LMA'd to CC. One thing that I was fortunate to do though was being the top part time and swing person at the time was to have a 42 share on WOVK sunday nights. Also, I was morning shift on Saturday I was ranked second behind one of the afternoon full timers. but stations that had full air staffs were reduced to two full timers, satellite nights and nobody on overnights. we had about 4 part timers to run sports etc. I am trying to save up to start a part 15 am.

Peace,

Another classic station coming to a sad end. It is mostly automated...badly!
News breaks missing their mark, overlapping the start of programs, etc. Horrible!
They have a live morning show now but it is a joke. Sounds like they tapped into
a party line system down in Wetzel County somewhere. CC filed to move them to
Cleveland, and to their credit the local people went ape****. Got Sen. Byrd involved....
not a fan of the Klansman, but he at least got CC to back off. Station is still for sale
if you manage to save enough nickels. CC also dumped the Capitol Music Hall on
the government after it failed a fire inspection. Local officials are trying to find
some way to save it.

97.3 puts a real nice signal into my home outside
of Pittsburgh. They are my Wheeling Nailers hockey station.
