Clear Channel Format Flip on 9/20/07??

I just read on another popular website that Clear Channel is flipping an ATL station on 9/20/07. I don't believe this one at all, but does anyone know something that I don't??? I read it has something to do with CC's syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show???

Is El Patron being deported?

Another popular website? Happen to mention Steve Harvey? You don't happen to recall the name of this mysterious "popular website"? ::)

I would go for Soul. Anything is better than that CRAP on there now.

It would give KISS 104 and 102.5 some competition.

Whoopie? Movin'? Love? Come on...do you really think they'll blow up Project for some lame-ass AC format?

I thought Steve Harvey was on the Grown Ups station my parents won't let me listen to.

If any CC station it is flipping it is Viva. 96.7 too weak and I believe about to be jettisoned. Project and bull are only in there 10th month.

Yeah, I'd say that site is about as credible as 90% of the "inside info" in the threads here. I'm sure we'd all like to see more "likable" formats in this market, but I think they're here to stay 'til the PPMs arrive, or at least I'd hope a few of them will.

Real Radio 105.3 was only seven months old when CC Atlanta decided to sink that ship. They're not beyond impatience, but I think Viva is the most likely candidate to get blown up.

I would say extenuating circumatances though on Real Radio. The morning show was pulled over to 96 rock within the first month or so and then it became all MJ all the time. Let's just run Tampa's MJ in the morning and then for the drive home use his alter ego's talk show. In between will stick Scott Ferrall. I liked Scott old show but I found his mid-day show to be a little too-inclusive. It seemd like a bunch of his friends calling up to discuss where they were going drinking that wekend. It was not a good show.

OVerall poor ratings blew it up. Project and Bull have much better numbers.

The Bull's numbers are about where Real Radio was when the flipped and the Bull is propped up by Baseball! Anyone want to venture a guess on how much money the CC changes have cost them? Including Baseball I bet there off close to 12 million dollars! How long can you bleed this kind of cash?

I'm still not sure why CC saw a hole in the market for country. I think they felt Lite's billings had hit their ceiling, probably somewhere around $15 million, and they looked at Kicks' high billings and thought they could do better with country. But that's still a decision that's puzzled me.

This rumor died faster then Mix, Max or Real Radio!
