clear channel hd radio channels

I was wondering there was a site where Clear channel had a bunch of hd radio am/fm radio channels and then they got rid of that site and now they have only 4 or 5 listed. What I'm wondering are all those HD channels only found on regular HD radios and not on online now or were those 5 channels put in place of all those channels and also on on the radios instead. It would be nice if they had a 70s/80s stations also.

Here is an article that might help answer your question (or not):

http://www.rbr.com/radio/11252.html

As the article sums up:

"So bottom line, the Format Lab is no longer available on the web and has cut some of its formats down to the most successful/desirable", including: erockster; Pride; Verizon New Music; Smooth Jazz; Real Oldies; Slow Jams and New Country.

For 70's music, Mike Walker has a great sounding show.

"So all of us need to cross promote. C5, you're leading the way on this one. Nice job!! Everyone else here, take notice. Make it happen!"

Sorry, I just flashed back to a programming meeting I had earlier this year. :)

Thank you, Clouseau.

Mike and I don't always agree on HD Radio but putting that aside he has a really good show. And since this person is used to listening to music online and likes the 70's, I thought giving Mike's show, "Saving the 70's", a plug was a good idea.

Is this the same Mike Walker who writes for the National Enquirer, had a show on KABC and plays the Gossip Game on the Howard Stern show?

Carmine5, THANKS FOR THE PLUG for Saving the 70s http://www.savingthe70s.com

I'm legally blind, and do radio production from home, as I've done for ten yeas. But I missed being on the air terribly, so I started Saving the 70s specifically to exercise the "On-Air Muscle". I expected the show to be carried largely as a weekend show on FM adult contemporary stations. I'm obviously living in the past. A/C program directors tell me the music is "too old" for their audience. So it's almost entirely on oldies stations. Another big surprise, I have found internet stations (including big ones like 2NG and Heartbeat Radio) that are carried on Itunes, Windows Media Player, and other large aggregators, to be more receptive to the show than terrestrial AM and FM. It seems that today's "bean counters" at terrestrial stations don't find oldies shows to be of much value to their audience(s). Yes, I'm on AM and FM stations. But I'm on a BUNCH of internet stations. Oh, and my final surprise. I thought I'd be delivering the show to stations on cd. WRONG! They almost universally prefer to download it from the "tubular interweb". Welcome to (small-time) radio syndicaton in the new millennium!

Below is a link to my show. And NO I'm not the Miike Walker who works for the Enquirer. The first time I encountered him was at the NAB Radio Show in New Orleans (yes, held in THAT hall, where Katrina brought so much sandess and death!) in '95. I was mystified to hear an announcement that "Mike Walker will be doing his radio show live from the floor starting in a few minutes". Really????

Here's the link to my show. http://www.savingthe70s.com

Here's a demo of my show (tiny file) that you can download and pass along to fellow "radio dudes" http://www.theproductionroom.net/savingthe70sdemo.wma

I'd love to hear my show on your stations!

Have you heard of Ron Joseph?
He has been "saving the 70's" for decades.

Coolness. The more the merrier. Oldies is vital, with many possible "sounds", and blends of styles. It belongs ON THE AIR! By the way, you scared me for a minute, when you said he'd been "Saving the 70s" for decades. I thought you meant he used that name for his show! I did a thorough search before choosing the name, but accidents do happen!

Nothing's new under the sun, of course (especially on an oldies show!) What I try to bring to the table is a show that's about more than just music. It's about the culture, the sound, the "feel" of the period. And I try to show how fast-paced, fun, and VARIED the fare was on classic top-40 radio, because there's a whole generation that has never, in my opinion, heard personality radio done RIGHT! I may not be the best example, but I'm trying to keep that classic sound ALIVE! And by "classic sound" I mean more than JUST the music! As a professional "production wizard", I try to bring great production values to the show. I hope it shows. If someone, ANYONE, enjoys it, it's worthwhile!
