Clear Channel Hudson Valley

This cluster has really gone down hill. WKIP-AM has been running the same morning news cast since last Wednesday. The anchor must have gone on vacation. Can the programming people really be that clueless ... I assume they don't even know what their people do. Guess it was just a matter of time... fire the PD and News Director .... guess the News Talk isn't that important anymore.

That's nothing. WGY aired Fridays local news on Sunday nite a few weeks ago. How is it that stand alone mom and pop stations have their automation run correctly but a one time heritage AM has double audio, dead air , ect and thats OK for them???

I was listening to sister station WOFX (WGY-HD2) on a Sunday afternoon and during commercial breaks I heard Fox Sports commercials underneath local commercials. This was over their iHeartRadio stream, so I'm not sure if it went out over the air, too - though I wouldn't be surprised if it did...

When I was listening to other CC stations, it ran some piped boring syndicated programming known as "Premium Choice", except a few local people on the stations. Joe Daly still on WRNQ's "Lite-FM", CJ on WRWD, Chris Marino on WBWZ's "Star 93.3" all did their local morning shows as well as Bill Williams on WCTW's "The Cat" here he does afternoons. Whatever happened to "Downtown" Lou Brown, Rick Knight, Cameron Herdricks, the news guy and Tony Flash? They all let go last month, but I hope Lou Brown, Tony Flash and Rick Knight will end up on WGNY's "Fox Oldies" in 2012.

So again this morning (Wednesday morning) listening to WKIP-AM again...what a mess. Everyone is on vacation, so they have chosen not to run local news at all during morning drive. They didn't even run the full fox news at top - just took the news out-so you get all this extra stuff ...like reruns of talking points. Then running promos for I heart radio saying news talk 99.3 (which is the fm). The topper was running yesterday's weather.... that was running wrong all morning on all the Clear Channel stations... calling for sunshine while it's raining out. I do have to say that someone fired the wrong people and maybe they should have kept a few more people around instead of giving them vacation. So sad!!

I heard a lot of that nonsense onn WKIP this week while visiting family in the area. Mike Shpiels forecasts were almost never even close and the cut outs during the Imus show were awful. Just shut the thing off and let Central Hudson sell the power to someone else.

FYI- A station that has pretty tight automation is WHUC 1230 AM.

I was listening to WRWD this afternoon and they are running yesterday's weather. Same problem, calls for increasing clouds instead of clearing up, that is so wrong on all CC stations, so I checked "The Cat" and they got the right weather, thank goodness! I hope they should fix the problem and get the right forecast straight. Do it now, and don't screw it up.

disney fanatic,

what do you expect when you've only got 1 employee left?! LOL

This is really the cruces of the matter. CC has let so many people go thinking automation can save them money ,and most listeners won’t notice , that there are not enough people around to make sure all the, essential updates to news,, weather, etc. are made in a timely manner.
