CLEAR CHANNEL MARCHING TRANSLATOR TOWARD RALEIGH

The construction permit has W270AW moving to the WUVC-TV tower in Broadway with 190 watts from a perch of nearly 1,600 feet--a very impressive coverage area for a translator, though it will still be spotty in much of the Raleigh-Durham market proper.

WRDU-HD 2 is currenly airing a classic country format, occasionally interrupted for Carolina Mudcats baseball.
Oh, is that how they do it? I wondered how a full-power FM could air minor-league baseball.

If the check clears, then a full-power FM could air The VChimpanzee Show.

 :eek:OMG.. Please let me know when this hit's the air..Want to make sure to aircheck and send to Charlie Tuna for syndication!!!

how is this translator related to clear channel??? and I heard some rumors floating around of a new move in but dont really know for sure, this station would have a marginal to poor signal across raleigh, with such a low power it would have little to no building penetration.

CC is buying a Sanford-licensed FM translator at 101.9 from EMF (owner of K-Love) to rebroadcast WRDU-HD2, currently a classic country format. I imagine Gastonia-licensed WBAV and New Bern's WIKS will cause lots of trouble with that signal--especially in morning drive-- as well.

I can't imagine EMF getting rid of any translators! They don't need the money! BIGAPE

You would be quite surprised... EMF has even sold translators to "gasp" non Christian broadcaters to rebroadcast their AM and HD-2 signals!

If that antenna is gonna be on a stick in Broadway (just east of Sanford) it'll be a VERY thin signal into Raleigh. In-car listening, at best. CC still has a hard-on for Curtis Media and 'QDR. Look how they sat on top of The Pulse with KISS..(not to mention crushing 'PTF with Rush Radio) So, I'd be surprised if the 101.9 translator wasn't a Country format when the dust settles. 'QDR is #1 and when you're at the top, someone's gunnin' for ya!
