CLEAR CHANNEL MAY SPIN OFF 1 FM IN AUSTIN

ON INSIDE RADIO.COM TODAY ( DEC 18,2006) , THERE IS A LIST OF CITIES WHERE CLEAR CHANNEL IS OVER THE MARKET LIMIT OF STATIONS AUSTIN IS 1 FM OVER, AND WACO IS 1 FM OVER. I WONDER WHICH STATION WILL BE SPINED OFF IN AUSTIN?

I bet either KFMK or KEPZ

If Clear Channel is over, then Emmis is also over... I doubt any Austin stations will be spun off - Emmis or CC...

The difference is that Clear Channel is involved in a "transfer of control." When Emmis acquired the LBJ/Sinclair cluster, it was a few months prior to the FCC changing its ownership rules. So, Emmis doesn't have to spin anything off. Clear Channel may or may not have to do so. If the FCC decides this "transfer of control" results in a different company acquiring Clear Channel, spinoffs will be required. If it doesn't, they will not.
