Clear Channel Party makes the news

From Metro News:

After a drunken, overcrowded party at the Milwaukee Art Museum that may have left some artwork damaged, museum officials are reviewing their policy for renting the space for private events. The Milwaukee "Journal Sentinel" reports that people threw up, passed out, were injured and got into fights at a February 11th event hosted by Clear Channel Radio. The museum issued a statement saying it had been assured that capacity would be limited to 14-hundred people and that the assurance was broken. According to Clear Channel, the museum said the capacity was nearly 22-hundred. Some guests climbed on sculptures. Some artworks have been taken off display, after food, drink and vomit were discovered on them after the Clear Channel event.

"People were shoving people over. People were getting sick, screaming, shouting, messing with the artwork."

"A group of four young men climbed onto "Standing Woman,"... grabbing the (BLEEP), and somebody was just taking pictures with a cell phone"

"It just seemed right off the bat that things were chaotic. There were too many people there . . . people were getting rowdier and rowdier by the hour."

"We had seen this girl who had fallen,...she had a laceration on her head and some blood coming down . . . she looked very intoxicated."

"Zwicky said that when she left about 11 p.m., four ambulances were outside the museum; (Kerry)Wolfe insisted there were two."

A little gleeful arent we Don.

Still, when I drink I, not anyone else, is responsible for what _I_ put in my mouth. I am responsible for my OWN actions. What happened to personal responsibility? I guess we are so anxious to blame anyone else for our own actions.

Well put. Still, it just seems like someone trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Who wants to bet the author of the Jounral Sentinel article was there, got puked on, and now is using her medium to vent.

Clearly the venue was too small, but if put that number of people in any venue, it will APPEAR to be rowdier and more chaotic than an event in an open area (Summerfest, for example).

I know Don. He was not gleeful. He was reporting the news. How does that make him gleeful? What is your problem? This has become a very big story . I am so glad you are so responsible... seriously.

>I don't know if Don will reply to this. I would think so. As someone who works with him I sincerely thank you. I was having a terrible day this week and Don out of kindness for a co-worker really helped me out. He turned my whole week around and I still had a smile on my face when I walked out the door today. I just wanted to thank you, because I always expect a lot more out of this board than the gossip board!
