clear channel picks up Albany's new 98.1fm

I see that 98.1 WMRZ Dawson-Albany has new owners before even signing on which is not unusual but I wonder if this will speed up the sign-on.

So, the rich get even richer. Well, sort of. I've tuned in to 98.1 recently, and the station has been having some technical problems. CC's purchase of 98.1 comes as a big surprise, IMHO. Clear Channel and Cumulus now own 13 stations in the Albany market between them with the purchase of 98.1. It seems like the so-called "Evil Empire of Radio" has put another station in its clutches long before it even signs on the air. What happened with Staton Broadcasting, the original owners of 98.1? Did they even try to make an effort with the station? It'll be interesting what happens from here.
Edited by radionut987 on 09/23/05 04:50 PM.

Mr.staton is now $875,000 richer.

What would you have done?

Sell it to a company that knows how to do radio the right way. And unfortunately, it's not CC.
