CLEAR CHANNEL - ROANOKE

Hi all, As you may or may not heard, Clear Channel is selling off some of their smaller market station...just wondering if anyone knows if Roanoke will be affected ?

They sold a couple of AMs but the cluster isn't being sold off...

Both InsideRadio.com and RBR.com were reporting that CC had to give up 4 FMS in Roanoke according to the FCC filing. A CC insider says, though, that could be a bit premature and they could possibly lose just one...

Alright, I'm going to be honest here... if any of you agree, let me know. When Clear Channel announced they were selling those 448 some stations, I remember thinking, "they'll sell more, just wait."

I think the list that appeared in Inside Radio was more "potential" stations they could sell off. Personally, I think someone leaked it to the press. But there again, isn't Inside Radio owned by Clear Channel? Which gives me more reason to believe there's more stations to be sold before it's all said and done.

NOW... let's say they do sell more and they do sell what was listed... it said they were selling 4 FM's in Roanoke, VA. Which ones would they sell, there's 5? WROV, WJJS-WJJX, WSNV-WSNZ, WYYD and WZBL.

Keep in mind, WYYD is the ONLY station based in Lynchburg. And technically, the market is Roanoke-Lynchburg... the list from Inside Radio only said "Roanoke." Does that mean that only the Roanoke based stations are being sold? That would mean that the only station left would be WYYD in Lynchburg.

So............ if that list were true and they were selling 4 FM's. Who do you think would be sold? I know this is a lot!!! SORRY! :)

SELL EM ALL. ROV IS USUALLY THE ONLY ONE THAT MAKES ANY MONEY.

More than likely, 101.7/106.1/93.5 are going on the block.

CC will keep 104.9/102.7, 107.9, and 96.3
