Clear Channel Debuts 'Social Networking' Sites

CLEAR CHANNEL has launched social-networking sites associated with seven of its Top 40 stations: WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK, WKSC (KISS 103.5)/CHICAGO, KYLD (WILD 94.9)/SAN FRANCISCO, WIHT (HOT 99.5)/WASHINGTON, KDWB/MINNEAPOLIS, KHKS (106.1 KISS-FM)/DALLAS and WLDI (WILD 95.5)/WEST PALM BEACH. Five additional stations are set to launch in JUNE.

Each network is described as a "mini-MYSPACE" but focused on the local community served by the station. CLEAR CHANNEL plans to drive traffic to the networks via the "Listen Live" streaming areas on station Web sites and through on-air plugs and special promotions.
