Heard Clear Channel is moving their facilities, does anybody know where they're moving to?

Having worked in that building - as an evening news fill-in while still at KFBK, working out of Metro - there's no way, unless they took more space
Another thread says CC Sacramento is moving to River Park Drive, the same street where Salem's studios are located, but a different building.

Sigh...still gonna miss Ethan Way. A lot of GREAT radio came out of there.
As they're getting ready to vacate the building, they're probably finding stuff I left behind back in 2001...

Yes, it is...now in my hometown of Akron, Ohio, working for the local radio newsroom here...
Do you know when they start broadcasting from there?Big D said:New studios at 1545 River Park Drive - right behind the Doubletree Hotel.

Hi, stewie!
They started on Friday...there's a whole chunk of videos on the KFBK site now.
I highly recommend Kerry Shearer's video from the "move" Thursday night.
I have nearly all great memories of 1440 Ethan Way, but the move was LONG overdue. Even in the mid-1990s, there were times we felt we were broadcasting from studios stuck in the early 1980s...

Many of those tags were still there in 2005 when I departed.MPWard said:stewie said:Long long long overdue!![]()
My favorite "dated memory" at Ethan Way actually started before I got there in 1994.
KFBK and KGBY (ex-KAER, now, of course, KFBK-FM) were owned by Group W, Westinghouse Broadcasting...sold to the brand new Chancellor Radio just weeks before I showed up.
Anything that didn't move, and perhaps some things that did, got a Westinghouse inventory tag attached to it.
I have no doubt that many of those tags managed to survive right up until last week's move!

It took some time to take the Group W out of Ethan Way. For about a year after I showed up, we were still hooked up to the Group W satellite feed where reporters fed stories to the entire group, and many of those reporters continued to use "KFBK NewsRadio 1530" lockouts (along with the rest of the still-existing stations) until the day that feed was taken out.
We had a cassette machine in the newsroom pit that automatically recorded the Westinghouse/Group W reports, presumably triggered by some sort of audio cue.
As for the tags, I wonder if some of the more recent employees at Ethan Way even knew what they were...
