Clear Channel Stations

I was just thinking that Pamal Broadcasting should buy all of the Clear Channel station in this market.

Would that really be an improvement? I hear these folks aren't exactly the brightest in the world and pay peanuts.

My understanding is that an announcement went to the staff today (5/1) regarding a new owner. I've seen nothing in the online trades yet, so it remains to be seen if it is a done deal, or a tentative agreement. The TV stations were sold a few weeks ago to an investment firm.

Good Radio...That's who I heard bought CC Binghamton stations.

Yea another consolidator...Just what radio needs! If it is Good Radio, TV LLC it's run by Dean Goodman and some of the other owners are Carl Hirsch, Eddie Fritts and Larry and Susan Patrick. They purchased 186 stations in 30+ markets in about 7 states. The number that's been posted in some trade magazines is $450,000 million for 186 stations or an average of 2.5 million a station..give or take a little. They've paid a premium price for these stations...and we all know CC didn't sell these 448 stations because they were doing well... It will be interesting to see how GoodRadio structures the markets ..one thing for sure...with the high price tag...changes are inevitable!
