CLEAR CHANNEL STREAMING RADIO ON FIREFOX/SAFARI!

If you thought the only way to listen CC radio stations on Firefox was by using an IE tab, I figured out that you can stream CC radio stations in better quality than on their websites and by using a flash player by visiting this site:
http://www.iheartmusic.com/mediaplayer/
It's pretty easy to navigate from there. All LA radio stations are there. Just click on radio then browse by state (CA) then browse by format (Hits for KIIS, Alternative for KYSR etc.)
The great thing about this is no need for the IE Tab (which slows down my computer sometimes) for Firefox and the ability to discover new stations from around the nation. I just discovered Channel 933 in Denver and it is by far one of the best alternative stations I've ever heard.

I use Ubuntu Linux and Firefox is my default browser. With Ubuntu, I had to basically customize my system to play Clear Channel's web feeds. They don't make it easy, Clear Channel, Ubuntu or Firefox, but it can be done.....

However, this link saves me from a lot of headaches - Thanks!

You're Welcome! But what surprises me is that more of Clear Channel's online streams end up on the PPM when its more difficult to receive a Clear Channel stream! A little irony there?

Never had any difficulties streaming Clear Channel and I listen over time to a wide variety of on line audio streams. I use mainly Firefox, for security reason, in a variety of Windows Incarnations. I also have used Macs in a variety of their OS but I have never used Linux in any flavor. The only radio station I have experience any trouble with, and only in Firefox, is a small station out of Xenia Ohio. They can only be received in Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The problem however is not with Clear Channel or any station. The problem is that certain add ons, called browser extensions, have to be attached to your browser software for some applications to function. A few years back there were a lot of audio players and you had to download specific software to play them or for them to function in your browser. Today there are not so many different players but as they update the browsing software and you update it the extensions often get wiped out. If you lose streaming after an update then that is what has happened. Generally you can get help if you go the the streaming FAQs on any website. If that doesn't help then contact the web master.

FYI, Iheartradio is owned by Clear Channel and I generally avoid installing applications just to receive anybody's audio or video stream. I trust 3rd party software but I would be a bit suspicious of stuff furnished and promoted by only one broadcaster. There are many fine radio stations not owned by Clear Channel so I wouldn't miss them if I wasn't receiving them online.
