Clear Channel Sells 7 Fargo Stations
CLEAR CHANNEL has sold seven stations in FARGO to JIM INGSTAD BROADCASTING for an undicslosed price. The stations sold include Talk KFGO-A, Sports KVOX-A (1280 THE FAN), Country KDAM (104.7 THE WOLF), Soft AC KRVI (THE RIVER 95.1), Country KFAB-A (OUTLAW 92.7 COUNTRY), Classic Hits KKBX (101.9 THE BOX), and Top 40 WDAY-F (Y-94).

Ed Schultz moved into national syndication (under Democracy Radio) after doing a local morning show on Fargo's KFGO. Two other local hosts were dumped (and moved to a cross-town rival) so KFGO could take Big Ed's syndicated show (he continued to do his local show for a time, as well). However, in syndication - with no local content - Big Ed did not do so well in his hometown and KFGO dropped Shultz' national show (and brought back the two hosts they had let go). The Ed Schultz Show is still produced at KFGO (although there has been some talk about Ed moving to New York or another large market in order to get TV spots more easily). His national show was picked up by a smaller rim-shot station in the Fargo market.

Now, KFGO changes hands as part of Clear Channel's announced effort to sell off smaller market and poorly performing properties.
