Clear Channel Williamsport

I have seen many CC Williamsport personalities being laid off over a year ago and all of their stations in the same cluster either have limited jock schedules or switched to Premium Choice altogether.

But for KISS, they used to be a hot AC station, now they mix in "sleepy" 70's music along with the current stuff. Their slogan is "80's to NOW" but occasionally, they put in oldies tunes, some of them deemed very soft. Other Hot AC stations usually don't do that. Their playist is similar to those of Magic 93's locally, but some of the songs are ballads, something that is not heard on other stations with the same type of format.

They only have their local morning show host, but rest of the day, VOICETRACKED!

When I tuned into V-97 while on 80 west, I heard one or two local personalities, but they sound like they were using Skype. Don't know if it's voicetracked from different markets.

I only wish CC should be sold to a different radio group with the focus of "being local".

I was driving on 80 west and picked up Kiss. As soon as I heard them say "an iheartradio station" I immediately changed the station. They have the same canned djs on WHCY Max 106.3 in my area. I'm surprised they even have a local morning show. Give it a few months you'll see Elvis Duran replace whatever local content is left. Then it will be reduced to nothing but a satellite on one end, transmitter on the other.

To make matters worse, I saw their playlist on Kiss's website and I was surprised that one or two holiday tunes were being played in a single hour. Why on earth are they still mixing Christmas music with the regular playlist in this month of January!? My best bet is probably due to programming error over on PC's end.

Here is the playlist from Kiss over the last hour at this time of writing:
(Bold indicates X-Mas music played)

1. Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
2. Elvis Presley - I'll Be Home For Christmas
3. David Guetta / Usher - Without You
4. Heart - These Dreams
5. Katy Perry - Last Friday Night
6. Madonna - Open Your Heart
7. Roxette - It Must Have Been Love
8. Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
9. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
10. Jackson 5 - The Little Drummer Boy

X-Mas music in the month of JANUARY? Are you kidding me????

When Dame Media owned KISS FM (WKSB) and was running a tight oldies format they had one of the best sounds I ever heard. Well leave it to CC to snatch defate from the jaws of victory. I remember when I worked weekends there in the 90's I made a predication that ONE DAY KISS would be either automated or satelite! I can only wonder what will happen to Gary Chrisman at the end of his contract.

ive said in earlier posts that radio as we once new it would be gone...satelite..automated..voice track..etc..has taken over the airwaves. very few live, local shows anymore.. its that bottom line again. i was just telling a good friend who i worked with in the radio industry, the jock, or personality on the air use to do it all...one person did all on air stuff... the show, the news, the sports, the weather, the readings, everything.. now, if you listen to whatever live shows are left, theres a board op, a newsman, a sports guy, a traffic person, oh yea.. the weather person, while the personalities sit behind a desk with a microphone, and computer... its sad, but i guess this is what is called moving on. :(

Kelly..you are too kind!

Don't know on how the other CC Williamsport stations fare besides KISS, but it's probably the same thing: Premium Choice.

For KISS, their playlist isn't very upbeat, they mix in sleepy '70s songs along with the current ones.
