Clear Channel

No I haven't heard a thing...havent seen any corncobs since fall harvest either.

(ha chi-chi-chi-chi-chi-chi!)

yes...and it's not going to be pretty. Lima will be nothing but a shell...maybe a few key people will be left. Most pf the programming will be out of Columbus.

The New York Post is reporting as many as 1,500 on Jan 20th. Approx 7% of CC/Bain's workforce. These layoffs, allegedly, were already to be done long before the economy went south. The timing is what it is.

But this.... National Programming formats with little local presence are coming as well.

One format "PD" .... 15 national formats... and those at the local level that are left will execute the Brand PD's "vision".

OM's at the local level? Glorified MD's and schedule makers.

With the industry in a tailspin leave it to CC to drive the nail even deeper into the coffin.

While Obama's being moved into his new job a ton of CC employees will be losing theirs. At least they have a good severance package, at least if you've been there a while.

....yeah gang....Rush will keep his job and keep attacking Obama while in office as if his bird droppings doesn't smell rancid!

Frankly....at this point in the game I'll take the roadcrew job....it probably pays better.....my family comes first!

Corporate greed and lobbying to the FCC killed the radio star.
The NAB is their yes man.

Re: Clear Channel Clearing the Airwaves

Just saw on our local NBC affiliate CheapChannel laid off 1,800 employees total today...9% of their entire workforce. ::)
