Clear Channel's Cash Flow Crisis

Indeed, the CC buyout, as the article says, was a shaky deal from day one. It's a bad deal that could easily bring down the company that brought down radio.

I hope only for what's best for employees. Real people are paying a big price for the horrific economy and the unbridled hubris of others.
Exactly. There are real people involved here, not just "fat cats" on Wall St. So all of you cooing over CC's demise, remember that.

I don't think anyone here is hoping people who actually work for a living get fired.

In my benevolent dictatorship ;), the so-and-so's who turned the regional player (Clear Channel) into a national vacuum cleaner, sucking up local talent and turning it into Borg-clone stations, would be bankrupt, the assets sold off or spun off into local companies who once again, would understand the needs and desires of their local communities.

But I know there's more chance of me getting my benevolent dictatorship first!

The sooner Clear Channel fails, the sooner these stations are back in the ahnds of people that actually wanna be in the radio business. It ain't gonna get any better at CC

CC began the free fall of radio, so any true radio broadcaster has seen this day coming for a long time. The total lack of Corporate responsibility and accountability is shameful. The only ones that will suffer from the imploding of this mess are the ones that deserve to suffer the least. The "leaders" have already loaded their pockets and have plenty of life boats nearby. I bet they even sleep well.
