Clear Channel's Oldies

People here keep talking about the need for oldies. I don't know if I've mentioned it here or not, but Clear Channel has a project called Format Lab wherein they experiment with various formats (music, comedy, whatnot). I hear tell that they look at where and how long people listen to the various formats, for use in determining what they might do if they flip a format on one of their stations.

They change the lineup from time to time but there is always an oldies channel of one sort or another. The current incarnation has the Drake 93-KHJ sounder and a couple other bumpers, but otherwise is commercial- and interruption-free.

So there. Stop moaning about the loss of KFRC....

Pretty much all of my at-home listening these days is to these CC HD formats. I'm totally hooked on the Classic Alternative channel. Lots of great stuff you never hear on broadcast radio.

Thanks for the link DK, There are some really great stations on that site, I'm glad you posted that I've never seen that site before.

Strange ... you're not the first person to recommend Clear Channel's Oldies to me this week. I'll give it a shot.

Interesting...how do you listen? When I clicked on the link for each channel, I got a "page can not be displayed" error message.

Some of them are offline from time to time. After all, it is a format laboratory, no? I found about 6 or 8 links that didn't work, but the others I tried did.
