Cleveland own Chris Quinn Passes Away

Just got word that long time DJ Chris "The Mighty Quinn" passed away today...He had been in a care home in Madison Ohio and had been going thru alot of health problems over the past couple years...

His broadcasting career included WAKR, WBBG, WELW, WGAR, WIXY, WRMR, and many others, he was a who's who when it came to the music and all the info about every song, we talked alot into the night when his shift ended at midnight at WRMR, and he was a great friend who I had a long conversation on the phone with just a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned that he would love to turn back the radio clock 25 years ago.

Thanks for the memories Chris, and for your friendship, I will never forget the time I was looking for a song one evening by Paul Revere and the Raiders called "I Had A Dream", he opened up his 45 RPM record holder, pulled out that song and gave it to me to keep-I will never forget how thrilled it was finally having that song in my collection.

168 views and one post? Seems a bit lonely - and kind of sad. So I'll just add another post here. I didn't really know him but I'll respect his influence on the Cleveland radio scene.
 
I also enjoyed listening to "The Mighty Quinn" at the various stations over the years. Based on the obit, he was just a teenager when he was working at WELW in the late 60's! I recall he always mentioned the "Buckeye Penguin". Does anyone know who that was?
 
The Buckeye Penquin was Chris' wife...she appeared in a costume to alot of events, I saw her "The Buckeye Penquin" for the first time at a record convention at the Chevy Plant U.A.W. Hall in Parma...she attended many of his record and radio appearences...
