Cleveland Radio Ratings October 2025

Majic flipped today. There will only be six days of Christmas for the November period that is released at the beginning of December, but since they are already on top it will only help them.

The ratings are no surprise. All of the top rated stations are older demo dominated with 9s, 8s and 7s. You have to go 3/4 of the way down the list to find the first station featuring current music (WENZ 3.5) and then it is 2.5 for KISS and Alternative 107.3 has 2.0. The hard truth is that broadcast radio listening has tanked among young people who have chosen streams, Spotify and Pandora as well as their own files on their phone.

There are still markets where CHR is doing very well. Markets of a similar size off the top of my head include Columbus (where WNCI has been #1 6+), Orlando (XL 1067 is usually Top 5 in 6+ and has had shares in the 7s and 8s this year) and Pittsburgh (96.1 Kiss has a good stretch recently)

I'd be curious to see where 96.5 and 107.9 come in with the demographics that matter to them.

I'd imagine they don't want under-18s or over-55s listening, since agencies generally consider them worthless due to lack of spending power (kids and teens) and difficulty in changing buying habits (the old folks). There might be enough children and teenagers listening to these stations to negatively impact their appeal to advertisers. Seniors are probably not much of a presence at all.

Cleveland Radio Rations October 2025

This will probably be the last rating period before some stations switch to Christmas music.

WTAM and The Fan are trending up.

No love for K-Love. It is not doing as well as The Fish.
My mom doesn't care for K-Love. She misses the old DJ's from The Fish. I can't say as I don't listen to much Christian music, I like POP stuff and light rock.

YIKES, just looked at the ratings and K-Love isn't loved...LOL

KISS is doing better after they shifted to a playlist with more older songs and a focus on a more rhythmic sound. It seems to be working for them.

Z107.9 seems to be up and down, as is ALT CLE. Still, the top station for new music with some throwbacks is Q104. That station seems to do better than the other three.

Speaking of Q, I noticed that Star 102 sounds more softer and older than it has in a while.
